EU certificate

The EU Registration Certificate (often called the “NIE verde”) is the document issued to EU citizens who plan to live in Spain for more than three months.

  • It registers you in the Central Register of Foreign Nationals and includes your NIE number.
  • You need it if you plan to work, study, retire or live in Spain using your own financial resources.

Example: A recently retired Dutch citizen who wants to start a new life in Mallorca and enjoy the best of Spanish cuisine.

How we handle your EU Registration

  • We check your situation. We identify which EU Registration category applies to you and confirm the documents required for your specific case.

  • We prepare your application. We prepare your EX-18, review your supporting documentation and check the requirements of the police station where you will apply.

  • We arrange your appointment. We coordinate your police station appointment and prepare the applicable government fee.

  • We support you until completion. We stay with you throughout the process and help you respond if the authorities request additional documents or information.

How we handle your empadronamiento

The empadronamiento (padrón) officially registers your address in Spain. It must be completed at the Town Hall of the municipality where you live and may be required when applying for your EU Registration Certificate. It is often required to access public services in your area, such as healthcare, transport cards, public sports facilities and education.

We help you register with your Town Hall as part of the service:

  • Check the requirements of your specific Town Hall

  • Review your address and rental documentation

  • Prepare the application and arrange your appointment

  • Check the supporting documents your appointment requires
